How to Test Facebook Pixel Conversion API?

Facebook Pixel Conversion API is a robust solution to enhance the accuracy and depth of data tracking for your online ads. In this article, we delve into how to test Facebook Pixel Conversion API, providing a comprehensive guide to ensure seamless integration and help you accurately track your website conversions.

Follow our steps to test Facebook Pixel Conversion API events:

Set up a test event

To test CAPI events, go inside your Events Manager. Next, click on Test Events and copy the Test Code.

Open our app and add the text code in the dedicated field below the pixel ID. Scroll the page, and save. If you have a cache plugin, delete your cache.

Start browsing your website to fire events

Before beginning, ensure that you refrain from testing using an excluded role, an option available on the plugin’s main page.

To start browsing your website to fire events, let’s go back to Events Manager, and you will see events reported under Testing:

You’ll start to see pairs of browser and server events, with the server events deduplicated. Click on the event to see its parameters or its Event ID.

Noticing that only browser events that occur within the browser window where the Events Manager is active will be documented during testing. The browser events will be captured but not displayed while browsing your website in an incognito window or a separate browser. In such scenarios, the deduplicated server events will be the only ones visible.

In addition, to see active server events, install an ad blocker and navigate to your website. By doing so, Facebook will receive the server events exclusively, avoiding deduplication.

Occasionally, you might come across warnings. A few of these warnings could be inaccuracies. We’ve observed alerts regarding absent travel parameters for events unrelated to travel.

When you are done testing, please don't forget remove the testing code from our app!

Ultimately, testing Facebook Pixel Conversion API events holds paramount importance in enhancing your Facebook ad campaigns. By confirming the correctness of your conversion tracking, you empower yourself to make informed, data-backed choices that yield improved outcomes for your enterprise.
